Students for the Advancement of global Entrepreneurship (SAGE)

A group of  young entrepreneurs under the auspices SAGE are alleviating poverty in orphanages in  Nsukka as a means of securing a sustainable  future  for children in orphanages
SAGE an acronym for Students  for the Advancement of global Entrepreneurship  which was founded in California state USA, the aim of SAGE is to create  the next generation of entrepreneurial leaders
with problem  solving mindset, focused on making exceptional impacts in their  communities and in the world at large.

This group  of SAGE students from Shalom Academy Nsukka have identified  a worrisome  trend in Nigeria as regards  the funding system of orphanages in Nigeria, our correspondence talking to the president and CEO of the team miss Ugwu ifebuche  who tendered their carried assessment revealing  that 90% of orphanages in Nigeria Depended solely on donations and alms begging  for livelihood  and sustainability and this is highly unsustainable and no longer encouragable, she further made known their intervention program which they tagged “POP A JOB” through the project they trained 15 orphanage curators from nsukka,Enugu east  and Nnewi in entrepreneurial skills ranging from baking and production of  confectioneries ,production of cosmetics products and house old cleaning  agents, others skills included make up artistry and nail design with also bead making, this they were able to achieve with little self generated resources  using  already  existing community resources.

In order to ensure the sustainability of this project bridges were created to match up this curators who have  started  full production with  retail shops in Nsukka and other potential  customers , this is to ensure that they don't stop production on the basis of poor market.

The team mentor  Mr. Emmanuel Uchenna also emphasized  on his believe that the project which he believes  to have proven to be impactful will do well at the 2017 SAGE national competition scheduled to hold in Enugu  next month and  in turn make it to the worldcup which is the international competition scheduled for  August  in the city of Odessa  Ukraine.
