David Bowie's Blackstar Just Became His FIRST No. 1 Album In The U.S. — Get The Deets!

David Bowie's passing last week was quite a blow to the music world and several celebrities and friends who loved and admired the rock star.
While he's only been gone a very short time, Bowie's passionate fanbase is making sure he's not forgotten.

Last week we learned that the Space Oddity singer SMASHED Adele'sVevo record for most views in a single day when the world learned of his passing.
Well now the legendary musician has an even cooler record as his latest album, Blackstar – which was only released on January 8 - passed Adele's record sales for the week last week in the United States to become the number one album! Not only that, but this was David's FIRST number one album in the U.S.!
According to NielsenBlackstar soldabout 181,00 "equivalent album units" and 174,000 were straight album sales. This was the BIGGEST sales week for any Bowie album since Nielsen started keeping track of these numbers back in 1991!
A number one album seller is tough enough to do, but the Thin White Duke was also able to do so by outselling Adele's hit album, 25, after it spent five weeks in the top spot.
But that's not all for Bowie as Best of Bowie also snuck in at the number four spot, and his iconic album, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars came in at 21.
