L.A. School District Closes 1,000 Schools As The FBI Investigates 'Credible Terror Threat'

This is so scary.
Los Angeles Unified School District — the nation's second-largest school district, that serves 640,000 students — shut down completely on Tuesday.

900 public schools and another 180 charter schools were closed due to online threats received about multiple campuses this morning.
Superintendent Ramon Cortinessaid at a press conference Tuesday morning:
"I am not taking a chance of bringing children into a place, into any part of a building, until I know that it's safe. I, as superintendent, am not going to take the chance with the life of a student."
The threat, which was received online before 5:00 a.m. local time this morning, is now being investigated by the FBI, and according to local news channelKABC, officials are on alert for backpacks and other suspicious bags around schools based on the nature of the threat.
Students that were at school early have already been sent home, while buses were recalled to their parking lots and schools are now being searched and monitored closely throughout the district.
